There’s no great secret about what makes Sunrise Senior Living so different from ordinary care and nursing homes.
Quite simply, everything we do is based on a very clear mission: to champion quality of life for all older adults. It’s a mission that is every bit as relevant today as it has always been.
What does this mean in practice? We believe that no two people are exactly alike and that no two residents need precisely the same service. Our person-centred approach enables Sunrise residents to maintain independence and dignity, even as their individual needs change.
It was back in 1981 that the very first Sunrise opened its doors, founded by Paul and Terry Klaassen. Since then, our approach to providing the best possible lifestyle for each resident – based on individual preferences and needs - has remained unchanged.
You can see the Sunrise difference in the way that residents bring their own treasured items to add their personal sense of style to their suites. You can see it in our community pets, freshly cut flowers and space for both residents and visitors to catch up in our bistro and restaurant. These are all Sunrise ‘Signatures’ that make Sunrise a home from home.
You can taste the difference at Sunrise, too. All our food is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of older adults. Our chefs use fresh, tasty ingredients in traditional, favourite recipes. As a result, Sunrise's Assisted Living, Independent Living, Dementia Care and Respite Care residents all enjoy three delicious, well-balanced meals each day, as well as a variety of menu choices and snacks throughout the day.
Come and experience the Sunrise Life for yourself at any of our 25 locations nationwide.
Due to the latest national restrictions, we continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis, following public health advice. We’ve a detailed set of criteria to inform when an individual home can be reopened safely to limited visiting either by families or existing residents. The majority of our homes are open for new residents.
At Sunrise Senior Living UK, the health and happiness of our residents is of the utmost importance. It’s why over 90% of our care homes are rated as Good or Outstanding by the CQC. That’s why we’ve put in place a range of rigorous measures to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection within our homes, and to protect the physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents and the team around them.
