Resident and Family Testimonials

No one describes their experience at Sunrise of Westbourne better than our very own residents and families. Read some of our favourite testimonials below.

"My mum was admitted to Sunrise for a period of recuperation, after a couple of bad falls left her unsteady on her feet, and weak, following hip surgery in hospital. She had also recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This was an unsettling time for the whole family as we wrangled with wanting Mum to retain her freedom while also wishing to wrap her in cotton wool... Sunrise have been amazing at every stage of this process, and we all feel incredibly lucky to have found the right safe spot for Mum that nurtures her individuality, and allows her to express herself, while sympathetically offering her the level of care that she needs. A massive thank you to all!"

Very impressed by the attitude of the staff, no rush, just steady patience. The use of Christian names and a feeling of friendship and understanding. The meals are practical and service excellent. Accommodation is of a high standard and I am leaving with my two-week stay feeling so much younger than my present age of 88. If I should need any other respite in the future, I will use this home. Value for money? Yes!

We received a warm welcome from the moment we walked in the door and the care provided by the team on Dad's floor has been exceptional. The staff all seem very happy and are all prepared to go the extra mile for Dad, especially during the critical settling in period. There are plenty of activities taking place and food is also very good. The most impressive thing however, is the sheer number of staff on hand at any time of the day and their willingness to help with any need or query. They are all wonderful and can't thank them enough!

Should be recognised for an award of excellence!! Words are inadequate to express our gratitude and commendation for the top-quality, genuine care and love mum received. Sunrise provided the surety of mum’s safety and happiness when we were away - underpinned with excellent communications. Staff know and understand their residents, they take time and effort to do so. They offer an environment where the energy and positivity offered by all staff is infectious. They are tireless in their efforts to make everyone comfortable, safe and enjoy their living. Just like any family, this is not always easy but staff achieve this with humour and diligence. The palliative care offered was outstanding. Staff ensured mum had a comfortable, peaceful passing with her family, we too were cared for throughout this sad time Family & care home were one – the staff are amazing, committed and special. Thanks to Management for doing so in such a knowledgeable, efficient, friendly manner.

How likely would you be to recommend Sunrise of Westbourne? Extremely Likely

My relative has been a resident at Sunrise for just 2 weeks and in that time, I have seen a vast improvement. She came from another care home where she was very depressed and her memory was failing. This has all changed in just 2 weeks.
