Following the death of my wife and after researching the industry I became convinced that Sunrise was the obvious choice for me on a lifetime basis. The reasons for leaving my home were the loss of my wife, my deteriorating medical conditions, and the lack of social involvement and challenges in my life. I am pleased to say that Sunrise has satisfied my needs with the result that, at age 90 and with an active mind, I am able to undertake projects and enter the new field of art with a renewed feeling of satisfaction. In practical terms, I have an ideal, customized room, excellent meals, entertainment and welfare provided by staff and management who are motivated at the highest level.
How likely would you be to recommend Sunrise of Westbourne? Extremely Likely
My mum moved to Sunrise of Westbourne for a period of respite following a couple of damaging falls and a half-hip replacement. Following the respite period, Mum chose to stay permanently. I live overseas, and peace of mind about her well-being is incredibly important. I am so happy and relieved that Mum has found Sunrise and made it her home. The staff are wonderful: warm, welcoming, kind, caring, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and generous with their time. They've been really careful to make sure that she's been able to continue to enjoy the things she loves, which has been hugely beneficial for her mental health. Mum also has dementia, and the social environment has, I think, slowed her decline considerably compared with when she was living in her own home. I could recommend Sunrise enough.

My partners mum has been here for over a year now, and I have visited numerous times. It’s a wonderful environment, every staff member I have met, seems engaged, exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. My partners mum loves living here and chose to stay after a period of respite because it worked so well for her. They have enabled her to continue to enjoy the things that make her happy and in turn that has helped her health tremendously.

Sunrise has been excellent in every way and provided 1st class respite care to my partners mum and allowed her to rest and recuperate following a difficult time in hospital. We are grateful to all at Sunrise for everything they have done and can see how much my partners mum has benefitted from her respite stay at Sunrise of Westbourne.
My family were always welcomed with courtesy and professionalism whenever we visited, by all staff. Thank you, it was greatly appreciated.

We continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis, following public health advice. We've a detailed set of criteria to inform when an individual home can be reopened safely to limited visiting either by families of existing residents or by potential new residents who may want to view one of our homes. The majority of our homes are open for admissions.
As part of our approach to reopening for visitors, we'll be operating in a very different way. To minimise the risk of infection we've produced a safety guide.
We'll continue to follow public health advice to determine when visits will return to normal and will continue to do our best to support residents to keep in touch with loved ones.
