Resident and Family Testimonials

No one describes their experience at Sunrise of Westbourne better than our very own residents and families. Read some of our favourite testimonials below.

"My mum was admitted to Sunrise for a period of recuperation, after a couple of bad falls left her unsteady on her feet, and weak, following hip surgery in hospital. She had also recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This was an unsettling time for the whole family as we wrangled with wanting Mum to retain her freedom while also wishing to wrap her in cotton wool... Sunrise have been amazing at every stage of this process, and we all feel incredibly lucky to have found the right safe spot for Mum that nurtures her individuality, and allows her to express herself, while sympathetically offering her the level of care that she needs. A massive thank you to all!"

My mum was at Sunrise Westbourne for 11 months before she died 2 days ago (8/5/19). I cannot praise the carers enough. They gave my Mum love and care and she was content and happy. I am so pleased I chose Sunrise. It was the perfect place and I will always be grateful to everyone there.

My mum was diagnosed with dementia at the same time as having a couple of falls. She went to Sunrise for recuperation and subsequently decided to live there. I couldn’t be happier with her decision. I live in the States, so to know that mum is both safe and happy is a huge relief to me. Sunrise is a wonderful place. The staff are so welcoming to everyone and really care about their residents’ wellbeing: it feels like one huge family. When I telephone to speak to mum they go out of their way to find her and make sure that we connect. I would choose to live here myself, later in life. It’s wonderful.

My mum has been here for about 6 months - year. All of the staff are very attentive and actually care. They are all friendly and lovely, especially the activities man and the BOC are extremely helpful. My mum is now safe and it is a big weight off my mind knowing she is fed and happy. Lots of trips to go on, food is good and rooms are well decorated. I have sung their praises many times.

Very impressed by the attitude of the staff, no rush, just steady patience. The use of Christian names and a feeling of friendship and understanding. The meals are practical and service excellent. Accommodation is of a high standard and I am leaving with my two-week stay feeling so much younger than my present age of 88. If I should need any other respite in the future, I will use this home. Value for money? Yes!
