Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Jo Pattison, General Manager

Southbourne - Jo Pattison

I am really excited about the future here in Southbourne. Having worked as an operational manager for the last 7 years and a service manager for 6 years prior, I have welcomed the fresh start working with people with mature care needs as many of the skills and experiences gained over the last few years are transferable. Since the age of 17, I have worked within the Health and Social care industry and not a day goes by where I don't love my job. 

My first memory of being a carer was when I was 7, I remember putting my dolls into bed and wrapping them in bandages as I wanted to look after them. My grandmother was a nurse and I always looked up to her and inspired me to help others too.

Sandy King, Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator

I have been working for Sunrise Senior Living since 2007 and joined the Southbourne team in 2015. I have worked in activities for 17 years and was one of the first to hold the city and guilds certificate, for Activities with the elderly. Activities are my passion and seeing my residents having the most fulfilling time, brings me joy. I love my job and the enjoyment it brings.

Rebecca Warman, Assisted Living Co-ordinator

Southbourne - Rebecca Warman My employment at Sunrise began in the Summer of 2018 having previously acquired 15 years' experience working at all levels within the Health and Social care sector. I am privileged to have gathered a repertoire of skills and experience starting at ground level, and the last 5 years within management. I am thrilled to now be sharing my adventure with the team here at Sunrise of Southbourne – a place where no two days are the same, the care extends far and wide; and best of all I get to share the journey with such wonderful people whose life stories I will never tire of listening to.

I started at Sunrise 2009 and have enjoyed several roles whilst working here. I currently help people on their journey towards making the decision to join our community here at Southbourne.

I have shared some very special moments in Sunrise and every day brings me smiles and laughter. There is never a dull moment.

Penny Fitch, Acting Reminiscence Co-ordinator

Southbourne - Penny FitchI have been with Sunrise Senior Living of Southbourne since 2011, first as a Senior Care Assistant and then as the Assisted Living Co-ordinator and now as the Interim Reminiscence Co-ordinator. I am currently completing a BSc in Health and Social Care and am passionate about excellent person centred care that enhances the quality of life for each of our residents. This opportunity enables me to lead an amazing and dynamic care team who along with myself take pleasure from making each day meaningful for each of our residents. I love the welcoming and friendly community at Sunrise that enables our residents to socialise with their family and friends.
