Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Kara Hooper, General Manager

I joined Sunrise of Fleet in January 2009 as a Care Manager. In March 2012 I was given the opportunity to become the Assisted Living Co-ordinator and in November 2014 the General Manager. My passion in life has always been to help others.

I feel honoured to be part of such an amazing team who demonstrate love and kindness every day to our residents. I receive job satisfaction every day when I see the love and passion that our team provide for our seniors. Sunrise of Fleet is surrounded by passion, fun and laughter. It’s a joy to come to work!

Cristy Jones, Deputy Manager

CristyI have been part of the Sunrise family since 2009, Fleet being the first community I worked for and I have thrived working here. Caring is one of my passions in life. Being trained as qualified Nurse has given me the opportunity to fulfil this passion and has, not only a allowed me a rewarding work life but has enriched my life. I get to work with a team of people who share the same vision as myself, and, who are constantly striving to deliver excellent care to our residents and are motivated by the impact this has to the well-being of our residents on a daily basis. I believe that my clinical background combined with a genuine caring attitude will be a great addition to Sunrise Fleet and will inspire a culture of excellence, respect, empathy and love.

Fleet - Lucy JesseI am so proud to be associated with Sunrise of Fleet. We have a family team spirit, so coming to work is a joy. I have been at Sunrise of Fleet for 9 years and thoroughly enjoyed my journey here, having worked as a Lead Care Manager for 4 years then Activities Coordinator for nearly 5 years - so I have a close relationship with our Residents. I get so much fulfilment in being able to proudly show people our lovely, warm and welcoming community. It is a pleasure to welcome families and new Residents into our home, and ensure a smooth move in process too.

Natalie Barnett, Reminiscence Coordinator

I Joined Sunrise in 2011, in 2015 I was given the opportunity to work as part of the wellbeing team and support the Reminiscence Neighbourhood. In 2017 I then became the Reminiscence co-ordinator. I am proud to be the Reminiscence co-ordinator and I am honoured to work with such an amazing team who bring happiness and joy to the resident lives. Caring for others has always been a passion of mine and being able to make a different to someone's life no matter how big or small.

Lisa Baxter, Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

Fleet - Lisa Baxter

I feel very privileged to be the new AVC here at Fleet. I have been a Senior Care Assistant for over 30 years and here at Sunrise for the last 4 years. From the age of 16 I have enjoyed raising money for numerous charities and held many fund raising events. The main charities have been the Alzheimer's Society and Dementia UK Organising and providing activities for our wonderful residents is a real passion and so rewarding to see what a positive impact it has on their daily lives. 

We pride ourselves on our full calendars of daily activities and enjoy a wide variety of external entertainers who visit. My goal going forward in my new role is to introduce some new activities included a book club and singing groups for both Reminiscence and Assisted Living. We have a wonderful Activities Team who all strive for making each activity as fun and exciting as the next.

Louise Smith, Assisted Living Co-ordinator

I started at Sunrise as a Care Manager in 2012. I am now proud to say I am the Assisted Living Co-ordinator here in Fleet. My aim is to make sure their days are filled with happiness. Seeing our residents smiling and enjoying life is evidence of the excellent standard of care we provide.

Alex Kimble, Dining Services Co-ordinator

Alex KimbleI joined the Sunrise of Fleet family in February 2019 but have been with the company since 2017. I began as a Sous Chef and have progressed to Dining Services Coordinator in that time, enjoying every minute of it. I get a real sense of fulfillment with providing the residents with well presented, tasty and nutritious meals catering to all of their dietary needs. I have learned so much since joining the care sector of the hospitality industry and hope to continue to develop myself and my team in order to provide the best dining experience possible for our residents.

Alex O'Neill, Business Office Co-ordinator

Alex ONeillI joined Sunrise of Fleet in March 2010 and what a good decision that was. I love being part of a great team where I try to help both staff and residents in my role as Business Office Coordinator which I do as a job share with Deborah Turner.
