Sunrise of Beaconsfield
Meet our team
One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible.
Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.
Carolyn Moore, General Manager
I am excited and thrilled to be joining such a passionate and experienced team here at Sunrise of Beaconsfield and look forward to bringing my expertise to the home. I am proud to lead the team at Beaconsfield, and am eager to get to know all the residents and their loved ones.
Tomek Szkutnik - Deputy Manager (and Trudy)
I joined Sunrise of Beaconsfield in 2017 but have been directly involved in care work since 2003. My path through the care industry has led me on the journey that has enabled me to work in award winning homes. I love bringing people together, sharing light-hearted 'banter' and ensuring every team I work with, are highly motivated in order to provide the best possible care. Working in care can be demanding yet very rewarding at the same time. Supporting and developing the right people, makes it all the more enjoyable. I am thrilled and excited to be part of the team at Sunrise and I look forward to long lasting career.
Karen McLean, Assisted Living Co-ordinator
I work with a fantastic team of carers that look after our residents whom enjoy a luxurious assisted living lifestyle. We have some true characters in our community and the carers genuinely care and treat each and every resident like a family member.
Upon arriving at Sunrise of Beaconsfield, whether it be for respite or long term, we recognise that it can be daunting. To ensure a smooth, relaxing welcome, a carefully matched carer is allocated on arrival to help ease any concerns and nerves. We take the time to learn about our residents lives and work alongside our activities team to create clubs and events within the community to ensure our residents are stimulated and enjoying the best possible life.
We are dog friendly and occasionally my senior canine companion Flo comes in to see our residents.
Lisa Pitchford, Reminiscence Co-ordinator
Working in Reminiscence as the Co-ordinator is the most rewarding role I could wish for, we are one big happy family! The staff have really pulled together, even more than usual over the last two challenging years. It really is a pleasure to supervise the Reminiscence neighbourhood and watch my team create such special bonds with the residents, we all truly care about the residents and their families.
I was previously and Activities Co-ordinator and now work closely with Megan to tailor make activities and entertainment so that our residents are physically and mentally stimulated, ensuring the best possible lifestyle.
Megan Godin, Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator
I love working in the care industry. I'm a creative person who enjoys a wide variety of different things. I love to learn new skills and hearing our resident’s stories. I am very passionate about activities and how they have such an impact on the quality of life for each and every individual. I strongly believe activities should be at the heart of care. I love organising big events and involving the whole community in the fun. At Sunrise of Beaconsfield I tailor the activities to suit the needs and interest of our residents. Some of my favourite memories here are watching the residents dance the afternoon or evening away with one of our many entertainers. I really encourage our residents to lead a full and enriched lifestyle here at Sunrise of Beaconsfield.
Paula Hopkinson, Hotel Services Manager
I started working for Sunrise in 2009 as the Dining Services Co-ordinator. As each resident’s nutritional needs are unique, we work together to provide exactly what every individual requires and tailor as much as we can, to what they specifically want. We focus on fresh ingredients, variety and choice as our main priorities. I became Hotel Services Manager in June 2019, then taking leadership of the kitchen, dining, housekeeping, maintenance and concierge. I am extremely proud of how my teams individually take pride in everything they do for the residents, from making sure they have the outfit pressed for an important family gathering to putting a picture hook up for them. We ensure even the little things that mean so much to each resident are catered for.
Vanessa Holt - Business Operations Co-ordinator
I joined Sunrise Senior Living in September 2019. Having spent most of my professional career in Administration and Operations, Sunrise has given me an opportunity to utilise my skills and experience by working within the Beaconsfield Community. I am highly motivated and like to provide a high level of service. My work within the community is to support Residents, Families and Care Teams to ensure the Principles of our Service is delivered at all times.
Andy Keen, Maintenance Co-ordinator
I have worked at many of our communities and really enjoy maintaining the high standards that our residents and their families expect. My role covers many aspects including the safety of our residents, the appearance internally & externally, ambience of our garden and general maintenance. When new residents arrive, I ensure their rooms are beautifully decorated and should you wish for pictures to be put up to create a more homely feel, I’m your man!
Joan - Resident Ambassador
I was born in Shepherd's Bush, London, in 1932 and spent my childhood in the city. Leaving school at 14 I started work in a draper's shop, keeping me busy until the birth of my son when I was 30. I was so lucky to enjoy a long and happy marriage, sadly my husband passed away several years ago. Moving into Sunrise of Beaconsfield has been wonderful for me; always someone to chat to, the garden to relax in or a quiet corner to sit and read a magazine. I am really proud to be a Resident Ambassador, part of the team! I love being involved in the day to day life of Sunrise and enjoy meeting new people - always happy to help if I can.
Pat - Resident Ambassador
Born in Peckham back in 1937, I grew up with my 2 brothers and sister, sports mad, especially netball and hockey. As a teenager I started to paint, a hobby I still enjoy today. Living in Harrow with my own family (including 2 Boxer dogs) I worked for Selfridges followed by a career in the property market. Since moving into Sunrise of Beaconsfield I have loved every minute of it! The company is great, getting to know everyone's stories and the activities, particularly the art and exercise classes. The team are very helpful and always there to offer a helping hand. I look forward to enjoying the rest of my life here at Sunrise, with my family close by. I am so excited about being a Resident Ambassador, helping other people to settle and become part of the Sunrise family.
