The Sunrise of Beaconsfield team decided to mark a special day in this year’s calendar, on Monday 19th November. The community marked International Men’s Day by inviting several gentlemen in from the local community to share a delicious three course lunch, welcomed and hosted by one of their fabulous Activities Coordinators, Martin Woodley.

The gents had a long and relaxed lunch in the Sunrise of Beaconsfield Private Dining Room and stories were shared across varying topics of conversations. The guests joined some of the male residents for coffee, a game or two and general celebration of men’s lives, interests and histories.

International Men’s Day has been held on 19th November every year since 1999, when it was relaunched by Dr Jerome Teelucksingh from Trinidad and Tobago. It aims to raise awareness and make a positive difference to the issues men of all ages face today.

Shila Odedra-Silvera, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Beaconsfield, said:

“We’d like to thank everyone who attended, the event was a great success and we hope everyone who came had an enjoyable day. Everyone in the team at Sunrise of Beaconsfield made it such a wonderful afternoon and I would like to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to our clients over recent months.”
