Sunrise Senior Living is taking a full and active part in National Care Home Open Day, with every Sunrise around the country hosting a day full of events. The purpose of the Open Day, organised by the English Community Care Association (ECCA), is to reconnect care homes with their local communities.

As well as barbecue-style food and live entertainment, the day will feature announcements of the local winners in two Sunrise competitions: a poster competition for local schools and a visual arts contest for over-18s.

The challenge was to explore the theme 'What Does Care Mean To You?' The winners from each competition will be announced at each Sunrise community on the Open Day and will be awarded with a Derwent Artists Pencil 120 Wooden Box Set worth over £100.

All the local winners from all of our 27 communities around the country will automatically be entered into the national contest. The winner of the national contest in the Over-18s category will win a Nikon D3200 D-SLR camera kit worth over £450.

Guests of honour during the Open Day include the Rt Hon Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove MP, who will be visiting Sunrise of Bagshot.
