Sunrise of Virginia Water care home hosts Christmas social for Action for Carers, with special guest Lord Mayor Cllr Sohi
Sunrise of Virginia Water, in Surrey, hosted a Christmas social that was organised alongside the local charity Action for Carers.
The festive afternoon was designed to help support carers in Surrey in the lead up to Christmas. The honorary guest was Lord Mayor of Runnymede, Councillor Parshotam Sohi.
The Sunrise of Virginia Water community offers high-quality, personalised assisted living and dementia care, alongside a two week long respite care option, an offer made recently available that benefits both carers and their loved ones.
The Christmas social hosted on Wednesday 4th December was an opportunity for local, unpaid carers to bring their loved ones for the afternoon and speak to others in the same situation. The night was organised to help support Action for Carers to ensure the well-being of carers in Surrey.
The comfortable, homely atmosphere of Sunrise of Virginia Water created a safe warm space for the social. Mel Lewis was the entertainment for the day, performing a combination of jazz and Christmas music on the clarinet.
The pet friendly nature of the Sunrise of Virginia Water community meant Lilly the dog was also on hand to offer therapy for the guests.
Tracy Campbell, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise Virginia Water said: "The night was truly incredible for all involved - a magical afternoon that offered remarkable local carers the well-deserved opportunity to relax and enjoy this festive period."
Sunrise of Virginia Water will be hosting another festive evening for their community’s families and friends on Monday 16th December. There will be glasses of fizz alongside complimentary nibbles, prepared by the head chef and her team. To book tickets for the Family and Friends evening call: 01344 843 777.
