Sunrise of Southbourne To Tackle Loneliness This Christmas

Sunrise  |  December 5, 2018

Sunrise of Southbourne, on Belle Vue Road, are excited to be a part of Sunrise Senior Living UK’s campaign to open up its communities to older people who face spending the festive season alone.

The community, which provides high-quality, personalised dementia care and assisted living, has asked local churches to nominate older people from the local community who could benefit from a warm and friendly environment this Christmas.

On Wednesday 19 December, Sunrise of Southbourne will welcome guests for a wonderfully festive day. After tucking into a delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, residents and guests will get creative to make and decorate Christmas decorations and enjoy a game of giant scrabble, all over laughter and chatter.

Sian Gregory, Associate Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Southbourne, said:

“With loneliness a serious reality for older people, Sunrise of Southbourne understands the importance of companionship in ensuring happiness and fulfilment.

“We look forward to welcoming new friends to our home to get feeling festive and celebrate the Christmas season.”
