Sunrise of Mobberley, on Hall Lane, attended the King’s School Macclesfield Volunteering Fair on 22nd November. The team ran one of the stands at the fair, where they spoke to Sixth Form students about the opportunities at Sunrise of Mobberley.

Around 100 pupils attended, learning about the importance of volunteering for their future careers and for their community. The Sunrise of Mobberley team spoke to pupils about the valuable skills and experiences they can gain from volunteering.

The King's School in Macclesfield is an independent school for day pupils in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was founded in 1502 by Sir John Percyvale, a former Lord Mayor of London, as Macclesfield Grammar School. It is one of England's great schools, with a reputation for delivering outstanding education for more than five centuries and committed to providing a remarkable range of extra-curricular activities that enrich the learning environment and provide a stimulating atmosphere where young minds flourish.

The staff at the School presented a very insightful statistical presentation the benefits of volunteering. Volunteering has proven to help boost the self-confidence of individuals. It also enriches society and brings people together. This event was a great way for the school’s sixth form students to meet a number of charitable organisations and companies and to discuss the variety of excellent openings they have.

Sunrise of Mobberley supports students who would like to volunteer and also offers part-time jobs that they can complete alongside their studies in further education.

There are a number of volunteer vacancies and the team welcome any spare time people can offer. Sunrise of Mobberley is dedicated to delivering high-quality and personalised nursing, assisted living, dementia and respite care to its residents, each and every day.

Dawn Williams, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Mobberley, said:

“We are dedicated to the delivery of high-quality care and friendship in a warm and friendly environment. The community is changing the way people think about senior living and how important companionship and engagement is for overall wellbeing.

“We had a lovely day at the Volunteering Fair and meeting King’s School’s young students and the staff were so inspiring. So many of them are enthusiastic and want to help to make change for the greater good.

“At the heart of Sunrise of Mobberley’s ethos is the desire to enhance people’s quality of life and ensure happiness and fulfilment for all. This commitment extends from the community’s first-class care for residents, right through to offering career opportunities.”
