Sunrise of Eastbourne prides itself on the high-quality, person-centered care that its compassionate team delivers to its residents, each and every day.
This dedicated team, which led to Sunrise of Eastbourne being praised as ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, has recently been bolstered by the appointment of Ian Turnbull as its new General Manager.
Ian, who took up the role in July 2019, will be working closely with the team to continue to provide the first-class care that Sunrise of Eastbourne is widely known for – always going the extra mile to ensure that residents live engaged and fulfilling lives.
Ian brings a wealth of management experience, insight and passion to the role, having formerly been the General Manager of The Hawthornes Retirement Village in East Sussex where he fostered a close working relationship with Sunrise of Eastbourne. As a result, Ian understands and shares the compassionate ethos that makes Sunrise the special place that it is to both work and call home.
As a local man living in Eastbourne for over 30 years, Ian also held the role as Executive Director of the Hydro Hotel for a decade, making him a pillar of the local community.
When discussing what he is most looking forward to in his new role as General Manager at Sunrise, Ian talked about having the special opportunity to get to know and support people from all walks of life – learning all about their lives, their families, and their favourite things to do at the community.
As General Manager, Ian explained how important and rewarding it was to support residents to truly flourish and thrive at the community. At Sunrise of Eastbourne, everything is centred around encouraging independence, enabling choice, preserving dignity, celebrating individuality, nurturing the spirit and involving family and friends.
