Founders

Paul and Terry Klassen, Founders

Paul and Terry Klaassen founded Sunrise Senior Living more than 35 years ago. Ever since, Sunrise has been based on the same simple yet innovative vision — to create alternative senior living options that champion quality of life.

Today, Paul and Terry’s vision is reflected in our person-centred approach to care, which focuses on each resident as an individual and understands their unique needs. The result: tailored living, service and care options that enable each and every one of our residents to live life on their own terms. Sunrise care homes focus on nurturing interests, promoting well-being and enabling everyone to participate in an active and social community, we offer a welcoming home for older adults and reassurance for their friends and families.

Many years after the first Sunrise opened its doors, Paul and Terry are still involved in Sunrise today. You can read more about Paul and Terry in The Sunrise Story.
