Professional referrals

Sunrise provides a real home from home. A luxury environment that is also clinically aware. A vibrant place that values independence, choice, dignity and the highest standards of care, above all else. At Sunrise Senior Living UK, the health and happiness of our residents is of the utmost importance. It’s why over 95% of our care homes are rated as Good or Outstanding by the CQC. That’s why we’ve put in place a range of rigorous measures to help reduce the risk of infection within our homes, and to protect the physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents and the team around them.

We also understand that no two people are the same. That's why every Sunrise care home offers a truly person-centred approach to care, with individual service plans reassessed frequently to deliver the best outcomes for each person.

What's more, each Sunrise location has a neighbourhood dedicated exclusively to looking after people living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

Embracing and enjoying life

Our passionate, expertly-trained staff come together to create an all-round experience that helps the people in our care to achieve their maximum potential, feel socially included and be both physically and mentally active. We offer a varied range of activities, exceptional dining and a level of care that is genuinely personal.

So, when you refer anyone to us, you can be sure they're in good hands and moving to a care home that's right for them, working to achieve or excel all of the regulatory standards.

The care we offer

Before anyone moves into a Sunrise care home, we assess their individual needs and get to know them as a person.

As well as understanding the level of care that will be required, we find out about their likes and dislikes, favourite drinks and meals, personal life stories and all the little things that help each person to feel cared for and comfortable.

The result is an individual service plan that is monitored and adjusted frequently – in consultation with the resident, their families and, where appropriate, other care professionals – to ensure they receive care tailored to their precise needs. Our homes offer a range of care, including the following options.

Residential care

Sunrise care homes offer high-quality residential care, matched precisely to the level of help and support required by each individual. Whether that's assistance with the tasks of everyday living or a need for additional help, our teams will create a bespoke level of care fit for the individual. Care needs are monitored frequently and reassessed so that we can be sure each resident continues to benefit from the Sunrise approach as their needs evolve.

Dementia care

Our care homes feature dedicated, compassionate, caring staff who are trained to the national standards in supporting our residents and their family members to live well with their symptoms of dementia.

We know that memory loss affects every resident differently, so our dementia care team is trained to value each individual to recognise their personal abilities, preferences and needs. We provide person-centred care, comfort and security in a familiar and enabling environment.

All our Activity Coordinators are trained to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), a programme of themed activities that provides general stimulation for thinking, concentration and memory. Each session covers a different topic and sessions are run over several weeks in small groups or individually. CST is an evidenced approach recommended in NICE guidelines for the assessment, management and support of people living with dementia.

Professional nursing care

For homes that are registered for nursing, our skilled and fully qualified nurses are committed to maintaining the health and well-being of each resident. We’re able to care for people with a wide range of health and specialist nursing needs. Whether convalescing after a major operation or requiring long term care that needs consistent professional attention. Our nursing team are committed to maintaining the health, wellbeing and dignity of each and every resident.

Respite care

In addition to permanent residence, Sunrise care homes often host people who stay with us for shorter periods of respite care. We welcome individuals following a period in hospital, those who are post-operative or to provide full-time carers with a much-needed break. Respite care can also be a useful way for potential residents to try us out before committing to moving in with us full-time - our respite residents enjoy the same level of care and benefits as our residential residents.

Our commitment to care

We work closely with Alzheimers Society, Dementia Friends and Dementia Action Alliance across our Sunrise and Gracewell homes to raise funds, and support their ongoing ability to run by providing meeting spaces and general assistance.

We firmly believe that a combination of care, support, research and joined-up-thinking within the care sector can provide better outcomes for our current and future residents. We'd love to work with you to ensure your patients receive the benefits of this. To find out more about the services available in your area, please get in touch with your local Sunrise care home.
