Sunrise of Mobberley is celebrating one Carer who has been working at the home for five years.
Lisa West, a local resident of the Knutsford area from a young age, has gone from strength to strength since joining the care home.
Despite enjoying a successful career in pub management for much of her working life, Lisa made the bold decision to enter the care sector several years ago, eager to explore a new role with a greater degree of job satisfaction and fulfilment.
Joining Sunrise Senior Living UK’s Care Assistant Development Pathway at Sunrise of Mobberley, it was soon obvious that Lisa, like many other Carers at the home, was an extremely talented and caring individual.
Always demonstrating tremendous compassion and care for the wellbeing and happiness of residents, she quickly grasped how to create bespoke and individualised person-centred care plans and administer first aid. Then, with additional training, she became responsible for administering medication and delivering end of life advanced care plans.
The culmination of Lisa’s progress came with her nomination to represent Sunrise of Mobberley at the annual Sunrise Senior Living Award ceremony in 2019, and consequential Heart & Soul accolade achievement.
Earmarked as a ‘Shining Star’ by General Manager at Sunrise of Mobberley, Lisa Burrows, Lisa West has exceeded expectation, and is now a highly valued member of the team in her position as Care Coordinator - following the completion of her Level 3 Diploma in Dementia Care.
Indeed, even within this new role, Lisa has again demonstrated her abilities; proving instrumental in ensuring that all residents continued to feel safe, loved, well-looked after, and comfortable in their home, whilst also embracing all COVID control and prevention measures to keep infection away from residents and team members for well over 15 months now.
Speaking about Lisa West, Dawn Williams, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Mobberley, said: “For Lisa to have achieved so much in five years is testament to her personal tenacity and resilience. We very much look forward to what the next five years will bring.”
General Manager at Sunrise of Mobberley, Lisa Burrows, added: “I am truly honoured to have been with her every step of the way on her journey so far and continue to be inspired every day by her enthusiasm and passion for caring for our residents. It has been an absolute joy to watch Lisa grow in confidence and ability, and to see her excel as a natural leader. Residents and families have nothing but praise for her dedication and high levels of compassionate care.”
