Sunrise of Sonning care home has launched an appeal to local children for hand-made Christmas decorations.
The care home is calling on local schools and children in the community to send in hand-made paper decorations which contain personal messages for residents. These decorations will then be placed on the Christmas tree at Sunrise of Sonning for all to enjoy. The care home says that these messages will spread festive spirit to residents and team members who have faced challenges this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Team members and residents at Sunrise of Sonning will also be creating their own decorations as the care home will be disposing of any ornaments after Christmas, as part of their infection control measures.
Speaking of the appeal, Nathalie McLeish, Sunrise of Sonning’s Director of Community Relations, said:
“As we near the end of a demanding year, we’re appealing to local schools and children to create some festive decorations to hang on our Christmas tree. Our residents will be overjoyed to see these decorations and we ask that the personalised messages note the name and age of the creator.”
For those who would like to participate in the appeal, please send your decorations to: Sunrise of Sonning, Old Bath Road, Sonning, Berkshire, RG4 6TQ.
