Tenure at Sunrise Senior Living:
“I re-joined Sunrise in August of 2015, as a Care Home Advisor, having previously worked for Sunrise as part of the Family Liaison Team. The main part of my role is to talk to families as they start their search on behalf of one of their parents or a loved one, quite often I will speak to someone who is managing a crisis situation with a loved one in hospital or a difficult situation at home, and I can help by guiding them as they begin to navigate their way through the different options to consider.
Experience in Senior Living:
“Previously as part of the team in a brand new community, it was my role to help and support new residents as they moved into their new home, Sunrise. It was my job to ensure everything with their move went as smoothly as possible, and it gave me great pleasure to see them settle in and enjoy their lives at Sunrise. My role now involves helping and guiding families as they look at options for their loved ones, sometimes they find themselves dealing with an emergency situation and need to find somewhere very quickly for their loved one, my role is to support them in finding the right home, for their own situation.
Why do I love working for Sunrise?
“The great thing about working for Sunrise is the job satisfaction you feel at the end of a very busy day. It’s nice to go home knowing that you have actually made a real difference in someone’s life and that extends beyond just the resident, to their families, as well.”
My best advice to families or seniors looking for senior living:
“My best advice to anyone considering senior living is to just come and look at Sunrise. It will change your perception of what senior living is altogether! There is someone to talk to who can answer questions and guide you through their options. And, when they are ready to move, the same team members will be on hand to make sure the move goes well and to help to provide peace of mind for families that their loved one is safe and cared for.
