Sunrise provides a real home from home. A luxury environment that is also clinically aware. A vibrant place where independence, choice, dignity and the highest standards of care are valued above all else. A care setting where clinical governance is strongly applied throughout the community.
We also understand no two people are the same. That’s why every Sunrise care home offers a truly person-centred approach to care, with individual service plans constantly reassessed to deliver better outcomes for each person.
What’s more, each Sunrise location has a neighbourhood dedicated exclusively to looking after people living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
So, when you refer anyone to us, you can be sure they’re in good hands and moving to a home that’s right for them, working to achieve or excel all of the regulatory standards.
We've produced useful infographics that you can give to patients and clients. These quick and simple guides cover a range of topics: Arthritis, Cardiovascular Disease, Mental Health (including dementia care), Nutrition, Parkinson's Disease, Respiratory Problems and Stroke Recovery. Feel free to download, print and distribute the leaflets to supplement any other information you provide.
You’ll find many of our care homes are registered for nursing care - like a normal nursing home, but with all the Sunrise touches that make life more enjoyable. What’s more, each resident benefits from their own team of dedicated carers, meaning familiar, friendly faces are there to provide quality nursing care 24/7.
Our person-centred approach to care, a huge range of indoor and outdoor activities organised on a daily basis, and passionate, expertly-trained staff come together to create a senior living experience that helps the people in our care to achieve their maximum potential, feel socially included and be both physically and mentally active.
Before anyone moves into a Sunrise care home, we assess their individual needs and get to know them as a person.
As well as understanding the level of care that will be required, we find out about individual likes and dislikes, favourite drinks and meals, personal life stories and all the little things that help each person to feel comfortable and cared for. The result is an individual service plan that is monitored and adjusted continuously – in consultation with the resident, their families and, where appropriate, other care professionals – to ensure the care they receive is tailored to their precise needs.
Every Sunrise care home features a separate Reminiscence neighbourhood. This dedicated dementia care area is devoted to people who are living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, offering a wealth of therapeutic design features created by our dementia care specialists to bring comfort and familiarity to residents. As well as working with our residents, we understand the need to include families in the care process, helping people to live with the effects of seeing a loved one experience dementia.
In addition to permanent residence, Sunrise care homes often host people who stay with us for shorter periods of respite care, whether this is after a period in hospital, post operative or simply to provide their full-time carers with a much-needed break. Respite care can also be a useful way for potential residents to try us out before committing to moving in with us full-time. Every respite resident benefits from the same level of care and attention to detail as our permanent residents, including a full assessment of individual needs.
We’ve taken the traditional care environment and brought it completely up to date. No rules for rules’ sake. No-one telling you when you have to eat or go to bed. No strict timetable of when your friends and loved ones can visit. Just a range of high quality assisted living services that provide precisely the help and care that’s needed by each individual, whether that’s assistance with the tasks of everyday living or a level of care that requires more attention. The level of care required is constantly monitored and reassessed so that we can be sure each of our residents continues to benefit from the Sunrise approach as their needs evolve over time.
