Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia are particularly distressing and it becomes less and less realistic to provide an effective care solution in any normal home environment.

Reminiscence:
Specialised care for memory loss

Reminiscence at Sunrise is unique - and we encourage all professionals to see the Reminiscence neighbourhood in action, in person.

Every Sunrise has a separate secure area devoted to the special needs of seniors that are experiencing memory loss, perhaps through Alzheimer's disease or other dementia conditions. Our expertise is built on years of experience and we believe our approach to care is the most advanced and enlightened that exists in the world today.

Unique in design

Care services and environment are very much reflective of the quality of those offered to seniors in 'Assisted Living' - but care is more intense and focused. The environment is called the Reminiscence neighbourhood and it boasts a wealth of therapeutic design features that are absent from anywhere else you might care to look.

  • Comfort through prompting memories
  • Safe and secure
  • Indoor and outdoor areas
  • Special calm areas to soothe
  • Built-in features that keep the mind active

Tailored care programme

Sunrise 'Reminiscence' is special. Exceptionally patient and caring by nature, we train our staff to gently accompany seniors as they experience the phases of better and worse memory on a day-to-day basis, prompting them as appropriate to ensure their wellbeing and comfort.

The benefit of early action

Recent research has shown that the right therapy can have a beneficial effect on the progress of the disease - especially if diagnosed and treated earlier. We invite any professional with an interest in senior wellbeing to meet with us at their earliest convenience, so get in touch to arrange a visit.
