March Events At Sunrise - Book Today

Saturday 13th March 10am-4pm. Thanks to Mum!’ Open House Event. Open-house and complimentary day of pampering and fun. We have a number of special surprises, pampering treats and fun for mums for this special Open House Event planned for the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Activities taking place during the day include:
- Seekers Photography, offering professional photo 'shoot' for seniors, families and children. Appointment necessary.
- Beauty treatments by Nicola Mckenna
- Make up and treatments by Virgin V
- Jewelery by Lauretta.

Thurday 25th March, 2:30pm-4:00pm. Charity Event - Sarah Mac Cabaret. Cabaret show by Sarah Mac. The event will include an auction of items, raffle and donations as well as refreshments throughout the event. All proceeds to be going to support of Tenovus Cancer Charity.

CQC Rates Sunrise 'Excellent' For Demenita Care

Our dementia services (Reminiscence) at Sunrise of Westbourne are rated ‘Excellent' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. The excellent rating means that we are able to demonstrated excellent and good practice consistent with the key lines of regulatory assessment (KLORA) and a sustained track record of delivering good performance and managing improvement.

The CQC considered that the Reminiscence Neighbourhood in particular "provides clean and well-maintained surroundings where the personal, health and social care needs of residents are met," and noted that a "planned programme of activities is in place and regular outings are arranged to local beauty spots and places of interest."

Sunrise of Westbourne Now Offers Nursing Care!

What does this mean for our residents?
Sunrise of Westbourne will remain the same comfortable, homelike and enjoyable place to live. But now we are extending our care services so that additional nursing will be available 24 hours a day. It means that residents and families have the reassurance of knowing that if nursing care is required later, Sunrise can provide it.

The new registration is also an acknowledgment of our competency and expertise in caring. We have been participating in rigorous training to ensure that all residents receive the best assistance and care possible. But the really good news…As a result of our new registration it means that residents assessed to receive nursing care will be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care contributions. This is an amount of £106 per week paid as a contribution towards your weekly fees.

Sunrise of Westbourne Healthy Eating Award

Earlier this year Sunrise of Westbourne proudly attained the prestigious Bournemouth Heartbeat Gold Award from the Environmental Health & Consumer Services.

The Gold criteria necessitated Sunrise of Westbourne ensuring that more than 50% of its menu comprised of "healthy" eating options. Additionally all food-handling staff had to be fully food & hygiene trained and all dining areas entirely non-smoking.
