Dementia Care Week. Join Us
Sunday 5th - Saturday 11th July 2009.
The UK's aging population is resulting in increasing cases of dementia.
More and more adults are finding themselves in some way affected by its
challenges. We want to make this a special week by sharing our
experiences with others and to raise money for other organisations
committed to helping seniors with memory loss. To follow are some of
the events we are holding to raise awareness and much needed funds.
Monday 6th - Friday 10th July, 3pm. Afternoon Tea. Afternoon Tea with speciality teas and entertainment everyday. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society.
Tuesday 7th July, 7pm-8:30pm. Dementia as a Journey. A fascinating talk that helps understand the onset of memory loss in older age, and gives an insight into how to provide care, support and comfort for those that are experiencing it.
Wednesday 15th July. 5:30pm-7:30pm. Understanding Dementia. A talk for care professionals by Zoe Elkins, Sunrise Manager for Reminiscence. Discussing the different types of dementia and its treatment. With Q&A session and cheese and wine.
