Upcoming Sunrise of Fleet Including Dementia Care Week
Sunday 5th - Saturday 11th July 2009. Dementia Awareness Week. Come & Join Us- Increase Your Awareness. With dementia on the increase in the UK, more and more adults are finding themselves in some way affected by its challenges. We want to make this a special week by sharing our experiences with others and to raise money for other organisations committed to helping seniors with memory loss.
Tuesday 7th July. 3pm-4pm. Dementia As a Journey Seminar. A fascinating talk that helps understand the onset of memory loss in older age, and gives an insight into how to provide care, support and comfort for those that are experiencing it.
Wednesday 8th July. 3pm. Tea Dance. Come and join us for a taste of yesteryear: there will be the sophistication of music, the opportunity to have a civilised dance and socialise. All proceeds raised go to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Coffee Mornings every Thursday. Come along for a cuppa and a chat and get the latest news on whats going on at Sunrise.

Caribbean Day in Fleet
In May, our community went to the Caribbean for a tropical party. Our Residents were making tropical decorations, helping Ann, our activities assistant, to make the bistro area look nice and bright and get everyone in the Party Mood.
Other staff members such as care managers, maintenance assistant and kitchen staff joined in as well and Vic & Marcela were preparing tropical drinks for everybody. Geoff was surrounded by girls which he‘s enjoyed thoroughly. All of us had a great time and we are all looking forward to another party, this time with Country & Western theme on July 8th.
