Sunrise of Eastbourne July Events - Book Today
Tuesday 7th July, 12:30pm-4:00pm. Presentation on Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
As an expert in her field she will give detailed background information
of the illness and its progression. There will be time for questions
and answers. Refreshments to be served.
Wednesday 8th July, from 12:00pm. A Themed Lunch with a Scottish Flavour! Haggis Neaps and Tatties available if the three legged haggis can be captured. All Welcome. Do please call us in advance to let us know you are coming.
Wednesday 29th July, from 5:30pm. Evening Canapés. An evening of Canapés and Wine with invited health professionals from key local health agencies and societies. Resident RC Coordinator Frances McKenzie will be giving a presentation on Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Sponsored Walk In Aid Of Alzheimer's Society
Saturday 11th July-All Day Event.
Sunrise of Eastbourne staff and local residents are organising a sponsored walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, to be held during the National Alzheimer’s Awareness Week.
Sunrise will be dressed up for the occasion with bunting, flags and balloons, with entertainment provided by the Brian Howard Strolling Jazz band.
The walk will commence at 11:00am and the course will follow the perimeter of the community, and has been designed for all levels of
ability. The oldest participant is 103 years!! At the end of the walk refreshments will be served as well as ice creams for the participants.
At approximately 12:30pm the Alzheimer's Society will announce the total
amount pledged and collected towards their goal of a new Mini-Bus. The event is aiming to collect a thousand pounds, the final amount required to achieve the Alzheimer's Society target. Sponsorship forms and collecting tins will by available on the day so do please come along and support this very worth while event. We look forward to seeing you.

Sunrise of Eastbourne Now Offering Nursing Care
What does this mean for our residents?
Sunrise of Eastbourne will remain the same comfortable, homelike and enjoyable place to live. But now we are extending our care services so that additional nursing will be available 24 hours a day. It means that residents and families have the reassurance of knowing that if nursing care is required later, Sunrise can provide it.
The new registration is also an acknowledgement of our competency and expertise in caring. We have been participating in rigorous training to ensure that all residents receive the best assistance and care possible. But the really good news…As a result of our new registration it means that residents assessed to receive nursing care will be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care contributions. This is an amount of £106.30 per week paid as a contribution towards your weekly fees.
