Gold Standards Framework
We are delighted to announce that Sunrise of Purley has successfully completed the Gold Standards Framework training programme for the quality of its end-of-life care.
The programme provides a framework that enables the highest standards of care for all people nearing the end of life and has recognised Sunrise of Purley for its commitment to:
- Improving the confidence of its staff, making them more capable of providing proper care at traumatic times
- Organisational system change where needed to give the right care at the right time for the right patient
- Patient-led care focused on meeting the needs of patients, families and carers
- Care for all those with any end stage condition, both cancer and non-cancer
- Proactive rather than reactive care, which includes pre-planning care in the final year or so of life
- Cross boundary care in all care settings, whether these are care homes, hospitals, hospices or other places
This commitment to putting each resident’s needs first – something that is already at the heart of the Sunrise way – means that hospitalisation can often be avoided, and many residents avoid the stress of a move away from the familiar faces and surroundings that have become their home.
