Sunrise of Southbourne

Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Tony Hill, General Manager

TonyHaving joined Sunrise in 2012 as a General Manager in Virginia Waters, I am delighted to now move to Southbourne. I am extremely proud to join the highly experienced and professional team here. Every day is different at Sunrise and I get a personal delight in seeing the happy smiling faces of residents and families.

Dawn Cowling, Reminiscence Co-ordinator

Dawn Channing

I have worked for Sunrise since 2008 and have worked in the care sector for the majority of my career. Sunrise has enabled me to deliver person-centred care as I have always wished to. I love to laugh with my residents and usually do many times a day. I really believe in making time for any one and listening.

Sandy King, Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator

I have been working for Sunrise Senior Living since 2007 and joined the Southbourne team in 2015. I have worked in activities for 17 years and was one of the first to hold the city and guilds certificate, for Activities with the elderly. Activities are my passion and seeing my residents smiling, laughing and having a meaningful day brings me joy and strengthens my aspiration to enrich all Sunrise residents' lives.

Penny Fitch, Assisted Living Co-ordinator

I have been with Sunrise of Southbourne since 2011, first as a Senior Care Assistant and in 2016 I was privileged to become the Assisted Living Co-ordinator. I am currently completing a BSC in Health and Social Care and am passionate about excellent person centred care that enhances the quality of life for each of our residents.

This opportunity enables me to lead an amazing and dynamic care team who, along with myself take pleasure from making each day meaningful for each of our residents. I love the welcoming and friendly community at Sunrise that enables our residents to socialise with their family and friends.

Ian Warren, Director of Community Relations

Part of my role is to assist families in finding the right solution for their parent or loved ones. It’s rewarding to see, over the weeks and months, that all family members normally see a difference for the best.

It's a difference that not only enhances the life of our resident, but all the other family members too.

Sian Gregory, Associate Director of Community Relations

I started at Sunrise 2009 and have enjoyed several roles whilst working here. I currently help people on their journey towards making the decision to join our community here at Southbourne.

I have shared some very special moments in Sunrise and every day brings me smiles and laughter. There is never a dull moment.
