Sunrise of Purley

Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Jacqueline Ritchie, General Manager

Jacqueline Ritchie - Purley

First and foremost a warm welcome and thank you for taking the opportunity to visit our website. I am a registered nurse with a strong clinical background and extensive management experience in health and social care stretching over 35 years. My passion is ensuring that the small details are right and providing high quality care for our residents. I joined Sunrise of Purley in August 2016 providing lifestyle care for our elders. Sunrise is an amazing organisation which puts its heart and soul into the experience.

One of the best things about Sunrise is it provides you with everything you need to look after your residents and there are days I can break away from my office and dance with them all!

Dee Lall, Deputy Manager

I am a qualified Nurse with over 30 years experience in this field. I have completed Certified Courses in Psychiatric Nursing and Psychology and have worked in various departments in hospitals caring for patients of all ages.

In 2000 I started working with the elderly and found it very rewarding. It is a career where there are always challenges, but the rewards are greater. At Sunrise there is something for everyone.

Tammy Symonds, Reminiscence Co-ordinator

I have worked for Sunrise since 2005 across many roles. It is now my pleasure to head a team of care managers who provide quality dementia care within our Reminiscence Neighbourhood.

We strive to make each and every day meaningful for our residents in a homely and lively environment.

Sam Horsburgh, Activities and Volunteer Co-ordinator

Sam Horsburgh - Purley

Hello my name is Sam and I'm the new Activities and Volunteer Coordinator. I have been at Purley three months and thoroughly enjoy my role. Every day is different and always busy and rewarding. Interacting with all the residents, family and staff organising special events, liaising with all the departments to create a happy and fun session/event or day for the residents. Celebrating residents birthday's and being part of 100th birthday celebrations is absolutely wonderful. Incorporating and producing the living for purpose programme and interacting with the reminiscence residents and team is magical when you see all residents smiling.  I'm a great believer in volunteer work as I managed to volunteer at the 2012 Olympics and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, so I would really like to enhance the Volunteer programme here at Purley.

Louise Wood, Director of Community Relations

Louise Wood - Purley

I first joined Sunrise nine years ago and as a local resident myself I’m delighted to have come home to work in Purley again! I’ve been married to Nigel for 27 years and we have two smashing daughters, Laura and Catherine. I've extensive consultative experience within various sectors including the charity sector, estate management and hospitality, but most importantly care and nursing. I’m delighted to be able to introduce Sunrise of Purley and to help make a real difference to more people’s lives. Peace of mind, happiness, security with a sense of well being and fun!
