Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Jim Bowie, General Manager

Jim

As General Manager of Sunrise of Bassett I am privileged to lead a team of dedicated people who strive to reach the highest standards of care and who give that little bit extra which makes the difference.

Bassett is a beautiful community in a beautiful environment and we hope that we enrich the lives of our residents and their families to ensure that they live life to the full.

Joanna Audley, Deputy Manager

Jo

I have had a varied career so far including over 10 years' experience in management and quality assurance. I started out in mining engineering until deciding that I absolutely had to become a nurse, completing my nursing degree at the University of Surrey. I have since spent the last 7 years in a variety of positions in both the NHS and private sector, these include respiratory and intensive care nursing, quality auditing and management at both home and regional level.

I can honestly say working at Sunrise of Bassett is like no other care environment I have experienced. It has an amazing feeling of home and community. My role at Sunrise Senior Living gives me professional satisfaction due to the uniqueness of the Sunrise mission, allowing me to build meaningful, caring relationships with my residents, and their families and friends. I feel extremely privileged to be part of an amazing team at Sunrise of Bassett, and am passionate about delivering on our promise to champion the quality of life for all seniors.

Ellen Cattell, Assisted Living Co-ordinator

I started my Sunrise career in 2010 in ourWestbourne community as a care manager. Through commitment and dedication to my role I quickly climbed the ladder to become a Lead Care Manager, Acting Assisted Living Co-ordinator and administrator. I am honoured to have been given the opportunity of running the Assisted Living Department in Bassett. I am passionate and somewhat fanatical about quality care, I am loyal and approachable and love the feeling of having an extended family working at Sunrise. I live in the beautiful town of Mudeford in Dorset and like nothing more than taking a stroll in the local countryside with my family and my Golden Cocker Spaniel.

Lisa Roberts, Reminiscence Co-ordinator

Lisa

I have loved working at Sunrise from day one, I am proud of the care and lifestyle we offer our residents and I aim to improve this as each day passes.

I love working with seniors and I am pleased to be a part of a great team of people who all strive for the same goals.

Karen Grant, Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator

Karen

Activities are at the forefront of the care we deliver at Sunrise. I am proud of the quality of activities we have on offer every day of the week.

Rebecca Moores, Director of Community Relations

Rebecca Moores

My role is in helping seniors and their loved ones with the process of searching for and understanding residential care.

I’m proud to be able to offer a solution that will improve the quality of peoples lives.

Joanne Dempsey, Dining Services Co-ordinator

JoanneI have had a long and varied career in the catering industry and have worked in some of London's elite venues, including 1 Michelin Star 'The Greenhouse' with Gary Rhodes, and as Pastry Chef at The Waldorf Hotel, Aldwych. I joined Sunrise of Bassett in April 2014 and have not looked back. My role as Dining Services Coordinator is to ensure that all of our residents receive the finest quality food and service all of the time, whilst considering everyone's indivisible dietary and nutritional needs. Meal times are an important sociable part of our residents days and it is a privilege to be part of that. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing the nice comments during a meal service and seeing our residents happy and content.
