Meet Our Team

One of the reasons why every Sunrise home is much more than just a care home is the team of people working there. Every hour of every day, Sunrise team members are working to make sure that our residents enjoy life as fully as possible. Here are just a few of the people you’ll find at your local Sunrise care home.

Leigh Reid, General Manager

Leigh Reid

I have managed nursing homes for 20 years and during this time I have become focused on providing the quality care that our seniors deserve. I have always sought a care organisation that places seniors first not just on their policies but in their everyday practice so when I was lucky enough to be appointed as General Manager for Sunrise, I jumped at the chance to make a difference. Sunrise of Bagshot enables me to assist our seniors to live fulfilled lives with the support of my management team. I live local to the community with my two children John and Charlie, 18 and 16 respectively. I also have a 1½ year cocker spaniel, Blade who comes to work with me every day. I operate an open door community so if you are ever passing please feel free to come and visit, have a coffee in the Bistro or just to see Blade.

Julie Hynd, Reminiscence Co-ordinator

Julie Hynd

I have worked in care for over 26 years and have been a registered manager for some time. Our Reminiscence team works together to ensure we deliver the best person-centred dementia care. I am passionate about dementia care and I really enjoy supporting our residents and their families through their dementia journey here at Sunrise. I am married with four children, three grandchildren, and have a lovely dog called Roddy who will be more than happy to say hello when you come to visit. He loves sitting with our residents being spoilt by all their attention.

Jane Harris, Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator

My role is to ensure that all our residents are able to enjoy activities and entertainment which appeal to them individually. Our residents have all led full and active lives so why should that stop simply because they are now in residential care?

It’s great to be able to work with residents, get to know them and incorporate their ideas and feedback into our activities programme. Every day is filled with fun – just as it should be!

Melanie Grigg, Director of Community Relations

Melanie

My role is to help families and residents from their very first enquiry through to moving in to our community. It can sometimes be a very difficult and emotional time with a huge transition for everyone involved.

It gives me real pleasure to take people on a tour of our community and then see them settle in, make new friends and join in with activities that they were no longer able to do before coming to Sunrise.

I love seeing the smiles on the faces of family and friends when they come to visit their loved ones, knowing that they made the right decision to come to Sunrise. It’s such a rewarding job!

Lucie Sillence, Associate Director of Community Relations

Lucie Sillence

I have been working at Sunrise since June 2015. Before taking on my current role, I worked as Concierge and in Activities. I really enjoyed working with the residents and becoming part of the Sunrise family. In my new role I can show what Sunrise has to offer to future residents and then help them with those first steps of settling into their new home. It's a real pleasure.
