Majestic Mobberley Music Festival at Sunrise Community

Back

Residents and team members at Sunrise of Mobberley welcomed family, friends and neighbours to their annual Music Festival recently, featuring toe-tapping tunes and mouth-watering food and drink.

The festival included seven different acts, and music ranging from the 1920s through to classical violin pieces and songs from hit musicals.

Guests were treated to delicious hot dogs and salads as part of a barbeque selection, while they were also able to help themselves to popcorn and candyfloss, and pay a visit to the ice cream van. Food was washed down by the sumptuous drinks prepared at the cocktail stand.

Musical highlights included residents joining in with the dancing during Ray Golden’s performance of tunes from the 20s to the 50s, and Jason O’Rourke’s outstanding vocals when singing popular songs from artists including Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

The Music Festival is one aspect of the year-round programme of events and activities organised by Sunrise of Mobberley, in its mission to establish the environment for residents to live active, fulfilling lives.

The community provides its residents with high-quality, personalised care focused on individual needs, including dementia care, nursing and assisted living.

Sarah Golden, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Mobberley, said:

“Our Mobberley Music Festival was a great way for friends, family and neighbours to come and enjoy an afternoon of socialising, terrific live music, and tasty food.

“It was wonderful to see residents and guests wearing huge smiles throughout the event, and showing their dance moves during some of the lively songs performed by the acts on show.

“We are already looking forward to next year’s Music Festival, which promises to be bigger and better than ever!”
