Sunrise of Tettenhall Supports Its Eighth Charity of the Year
Sunrise of Tettenhall is celebrating its 10th anniversary in October, since the community first opened its doors in the local area.
As part of their celebrations around delivering high-quality care to hundreds of local people, Sunrise of Tettenhall launched a special ‘10 for 10’ plan, which pledges the community’s support to a different charity each month, for 10 months, leading up to their 10th birthday.
The charity focused events were kick-started at the beginning of the year with money being raised for Deafblind UK in January, the British Heart Foundation in February for Valentine’s Day, and Dementia Support in March, which has had the most money raised for it so far. In April, the community held a raffle for Parkinson’s UK; in May, the chosen charity was the Stoke Association; for June it was the Alzheimer’s Society and in July, the community lent its support to Headway, a charity which works to improve life after brain injury.
Sunrise of Tettenhall is now celebrating raising an amazing £881.41 so far as a result of the unique 10 for 10 initiative, ahead of August’s fundraising event which will support the local Beacon Centre, that helps those living with sight loss across the Midlands. As part of the fundraising event in August, the Beacon Centre will be visiting the community to provide an inspiring and supportive talk to residents and guests on sight loss, which will take place on Wednesday 23rd August and is open to neighbours.
The community is set to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in September and has just officially announced the final charity which it will be supporting in its birthday month of October – Compton Hospice.
Sunrise of Tettenhall offers residents personalised care services, focused on individual needs, including dementia care, assisted living and nursing.
Jenny Billingsley, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Tettenhall, said:
“We have had a brilliant time raising money each month as part of our ‘10 For 10’ plan, and it makes activities and fun-filled raffle events all the more enjoyable and worthwhile as we are supporting such brilliant charities. The charities we have chosen are both local and national and are very close to the hearts of our residents, their families, and the Sunrise team.
“So far, we have raised an incredible amount of money and we are all so proud of everyone’s fantastic efforts. At the centre of our 10 for 10 plan is the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Sunrise of Tettenhall, where the dedicated team have been providing excellent care for almost a decade.”
